Scott Ringwelski, is perhaps better known by his pen name of Scott Ski.
His book on animal rescue, "Dogged and Determined" remains popular with dog lovers and animal rescue organizations worldwide. Every year he signs and sends out, at cost, copies of "Dogged" as fundraisers to groups as far away as Poland, Britain, Australia, Canada and all through the United States. He gives readings in the region for local shelter facilities, book stores and community organizations.
Scott's motivational book, "InCite" was first published in Germany by psychologists seeking a tome to boost the self esteem of depression patients. It is available in German language under the title of "Bewegend". It became very popular with housewives across the country. Both Dogged and INCITE are series, with at least two more volumes of each planned.
As a studied authority on antique carousels, Scott is finishing a project on Charles I.D. Looff, one of the great amusement magnates of the early 20th Century.
A lifelong resident of Long Beach, California, Scott has lived in the downtown urban core for 34 years. He has served three times as President of Willmore City Heritage
Association. Most locals remember him as the memorable operator of the historic
1906 Charles Looff Carousel in Shoreline Village during its last four years of
operations in the city. The ride now operates at Mosconi Center in San Francisco.
He has had a career filled with ghost writing unusual projects in diverse fields, such as a college public relations department, three mass tort law firms, an industrial lighting, men's jewelry, grant writing, women's cosmetics, reporter for the Epoch Times, new product branding and image, various small business branding and image, restaurant theme branding and image and crafting books, speeches and events for captains of industry.
As a wordsmith and engaging public speaker, Scott still ghostwrites for an elite clientele and is an infrequent radio talk show guest.
Scott taught courses on creative writing and public speaking for the California State University, Long Beach extension program OLLI.
For seven years, Scott portrayed various famous dead people as an "honorary corpse" at the Annual Cemetery Tour hosted by the Historical Society of Long Beach. Scott received numerous media kudos for his "lively" performances and narratives. Some of his characters are pictured under the "Scott in Action" tab on the left.

Scott's passion has been animal rescue. He and
long time friend Robbi devoted over 20 years to it, saving hundreds of dogs and cats, finding them good homes. His experiences are chronicled in his book Dogged and Determined.
Now celebrating its 20th Anniversary, "Dogged" has served a variety of rescue organizations and shelters, providing an educational and fund raising source.
Scott’s historical/motivational book series, INCITE, has been used in university classes for developing Critical Thinking Skills and remains highly popular in Germany with psychiatric doctors who recommend it widely to patients dealing with self esteem and depression issues.
